The Harker School '19
Gene first developed his love for the game of basketball in the 3rd grade, playing throughout elementary school and middle school. He was named a captain of the varsity team in his junior year and has played shooting guard for the team since his sophomore year. In his free time, Gene enjoys coding and playing the violin in addition to coaching the youth, something that he has been actively involved in throughout his high school career.
Lynbrook High School '19
Ian plays point guard for the Lynbrook's varsity team, and he wears the jersey number #20. His favorite NBA team is the Golden State Warriors, and his favorite quote is "Heart over Height" because it perfectly embodies his relentless spirit and passion despite his relatively short stature.
Leland High School '19
Joseph has been playing basketball since kindergarten, starting with NJB. He slowly worked his way up to being a junior at Leland High School, playing 3 years of varsity basketball with next year being the 4th. He enjoys working with kids and wants to spread the love of basketball around because it is something that he has a passion for and hopes to spread his love to others through his coaching.
Cupertino High School '19
John stands at 5'11, and has been a member of the varsity team since his Sophomore year. He played West Valley Basketball Club under coach Alfred Grigsby in his Junior year. John has been coaching young children in his community since 2015. His passion for basketball and coaching young children drove him to become one of the co-founders of the Bay Area Basketball Academy. John was named an All-Star at the prestigious Hoop Group Academic Elite camp in Reading, Pennsylvania in the summer of 2018.
Saint Francis High School '19
Roy is a four-year varsity athlete, and plays shooting guard for Saint Francis, wearing #11. As a junior, Roy broke the WCAL record for most 3-pointers made in a single season with 45 made threes. His favorite NBA team is the San Antonio Spurs, and his favorite quote is:
"I'm patient" - Michael Jordan.
The Harker School '21
Ray Wang is a sophomore shooting guard for The Harker School. He is the only underclassman on the varsity team. He started playing basketball in third grade and has grown to love it ever since. In his free time, he also plays the violin. Ray loves coaching and wants to spread his knowledge of the game to younger kids.
